The Third India-Vietnam Security Dialogue took place on December 5, 2024, in Ha Noi, marking another milestone in the growing security collaboration between the two nations. Co-chaired by Pavan Kapoor, India’s Deputy National Security Adviser, and Lt. Gen. Pham The Tung, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Public Security, the meeting underscored the commitment of both countries to address mutual security challenges and enhance strategic ties.

During his visit, Deputy NSA Kapoor also met with senior Vietnamese officials, including General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security, and Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs

These high-level interactions reflected the shared resolve to enhance bilateral ties across security and diplomatic fronts.
Discussions during the dialogue focused on a wide range of issues, including global and regional security dynamics and the implementation of the Action Plan for the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Key areas of cooperation included counterterrorism, combating organized crime, and enhanced information sharing between law enforcement agencies.
The two sides agreed to deepen collaboration in addressing emerging challenges such as cybercrime and economic security. Emphasis was also placed on strengthening training programs and capacity-building efforts, including joint initiatives under the United Nations Peacekeeping framework.
