India has extended crucial humanitarian assistance to families affected by recent floods and landslides in Nepal. The Government of India handed over a consignment of 4.2 tonnes of relief materials, including tarpaulins, sleeping bags, blankets, chlorine tablets, and water bottles, to Chief District Officer Khagendra Prasad Rijal in Kathmandu, DD News reported.

These supplies were transported to Nepalgunj and distributed to the affected areas.

More recently, India provided relief after the Jajarkot earthquake in November 2023, further demonstrating its commitment to regional assistance

In addition to the initial aid, India is preparing to send more essential items, such as hygiene products and medicines, in the coming days.

Several Indian organizations and companies operating in Nepal, including hydropower firms SJVN and NHPC, along with LIC Nepal Ltd, Nepal SBI Bank Ltd, and Oriental Insurance Company Ltd, have also contributed to Nepal’s PM Disaster Relief Fund to support recovery efforts.
