India has dropped five spots in the global rankings of the world’s most powerful passports, as per the latest Henley Passport Index 2025. After previously securing the 80th position, India now holds the 85th spot, reflecting changes in visa-free travel access for its citizens.

The Henley Passport Index evaluates and ranks 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access visa-free. It utilizes exclusive Timatic data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to provide an accurate assessment of global mobility.
