India has not initiated an evacuation process for its citizens in Israel, Iran, or other Middle Eastern countries despite escalating tensions in the region, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), timesofindia.indiatimes.com reported.

Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified that flight services are still operational, allowing those wishing to return to do so.

  • Although several families have reached out to the Indian government and embassies, there is no evacuation in progress

  • Jaiswal assured that the Indian government remains in close contact with citizens, especially those in the affected areas

  • He also shared population figures, noting that around 3,000 Indians live in Lebanon, 30,000 in Israel, and 10,000 in Iran.

During a briefing, Jaiswal expressed India’s deep concern over the violence in the Middle East, reiterating calls for restraint and the protection of civilians.

He emphasized the importance of preventing the conflict from expanding into a broader regional issue, stating, “It is important that this conflict doesn’t take a wider regional dimension.”
