India recently sent 30 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Palestine as part of its ongoing humanitarian support amid the Middle East crisis. This shipment includes essential life-saving and anti-cancer drugs. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted India’s commitment to the Palestinian people and shared updates on social media, ndtv.com reported.

  • UNRWA has highlighted dire conditions in Gaza, with waste accumulation and sewage leakage posing serious health risks

  • The agency recently called for a ceasefire as the crisis deepens. Meanwhile, Israel’s parliament recently restricted UNRWA activities in East Jerusalem and the West Bank, further impacting the humanitarian situation.

This marks India’s second recent consignment, following an initial batch of 30 tonnes of medical and food supplies provided through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

India’s consistent support for a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict underscores its balanced approach, reaffirmed by Prime Minister Modi’s condemnation of the recent attacks on Israel and his concern for escalating tensions in Gaza. In addition to this humanitarian aid, India committed $2.5 million to UNRWA in July 2024 for Palestine refugees, reflecting its dedication to supporting both stability and peace in the region.
