Book Fair has largest overseas publishing participation from India
The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) has positioned India as one of the most dynamic literary forces at this year’s global gathering. With over 2,350 publishers from 118 countries, the event features India’s first national pavilion—its largest-ever international publishing presence.
Organised by the National Book Trust (NBT), the pavilion brings together more than 100 Indian publishers, displaying works in multiple Indian languages
Popular authors such as S. Hussain Zaidi, Prajakta Koli, and renowned poets have drawn enthusiastic crowds.
NBT officials highlighted the milestone of selling Government-published titles overseas for the first time, signalling India’s growing cultural engagement with the Arab world.
