Advisory issued for Indian nationals as Kathmandu, other cities placed under curfew
The Government of India said it is closely monitoring the situation in Nepal following recent developments that led to the loss of several young lives. In an official statement issued from New Delhi, India extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
“As a close friend and neighbour, we hope that all concerned will exercise restraint and address any issues through peaceful means and dialogue,” the statement said.
Authorities in Nepal have reportedly imposed curfew in Kathmandu and several other cities to control the situation. The advisory further urged Indian nationals living in or visiting Nepal to remain cautious and follow the instructions and guidelines issued by local authorities.
