Year 2025 is here! India celebrated with vibrant festivities across cities and towns, blending tradition with modern revelry. From the illuminated India Gate in Delhi to the bustling Marine Drive in Mumbai, the nation welcomed the New Year with enthusiasm and grandeur. Temples, mosques, churches, and gurdwaras were filled with worshippers seeking blessings for the year ahead. Cultural programs captivated audiences nationwide, showcasing the country’s diversity, reported indiatoday.in.

In New Delhi, nearly 20,000 police personnel ensured a safe and smooth celebration, while Mumbai witnessed massive turnouts at hotspots like Marine Drive and the Gateway of India. Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and other cities also hosted festive events, featuring music, dance, and elaborate decorations. Amid freezing temperatures in the north, people celebrated the New Year with warm spirits and community gatherings.

Dubai followed suit with its iconic fireworks display at the Burj Khalifa, while Sydney’s grand harbor event drew crowds from around the world. Earlier, New Zealand’s Auckland led the globe into 2025 with a spectacular fireworks show at Sky Tower. Japan welcomed the New Year with temple bells ringing 108 times, a tradition symbolizing purification and new beginnings.

Other nations, including South Korea, China, Thailand, and the Philippines, marked the occasion with unique traditions and festive activities. In Rome, the launch of Pope Francis’ Holy Year added spiritual significance to New Year’s Eve celebrations.

As the clock struck midnight across time zones, the world came together to embrace 2025 with optimism and hope.
