In an exciting turn of events, a South Korean and an Indian national each won $1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw held at Dubai International Airport. This significant win marks a moment of joy for both winners, who have been long-time participants in the promotion.

Ye Shin Kyu, a 46-year-old from Seoul, became the first South Korean to win the Millennium Millionaire promotion since its inception in 1999. A father of two and owner of a trading business, Kyu expressed his astonishment, saying, “I’m very surprised.” He has been a regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotions for over five years.

Joining Kyu in celebration is Mohamedbatcha, a 49-year-old Indian expatriate who has called Dubai home for the past 20 years. Working as a senior officer for a bank, Mohamedbatcha has consistently participated in the Dubai Duty Free promotions for 27 years. Describing his win as “very timely,” he is now the 231st Indian national to claim the Millennium Millionaire prize, underscoring the strong participation from the Indian community.

The draw didn’t stop at the million-dollar prizes. In the subsequent Finest Surprise draw, Mathias Fernandes, a 44-year-old Indian resident of Dubai, won a BMW 740i M Sport car. An employee at an architectural firm and father of two, Fernandes is no stranger to winning, having previously driven away in a Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe in 2009. With 24 years of participation under his belt, Fernandes’s win adds to his streak of good luck.

The excitement continued with Naveed Akhtar, a Pakistani national residing in the UAE, who won a BMW F 900 XR motorbike. Although he was not immediately reachable for comment, his win adds to the diverse list of prize recipients.

Lastly, Devesh Mukesh Dave, a 44-year-old Indian national and sales manager based in Dubai, celebrated his win of an Aprilia RSV4 Factory 1100 motorbike. Having lived in Dubai for 20 years and participated in the promotions for 15 years, Dave expressed his determination to continue buying tickets, hopeful for more wins in the future.
