Indian aviation needs latest technology and infrastructure upgradation

Every country across the globe, especially post-pandemic, is working on installing and adopting the latest technology and upgrading the infrastructure to ensure safe and hassle-free movement of travellers. The Prime Minister of India, too, on several occasions, said that additional services and the latest technology are something which is the need of the hour for the Indian aviation and Airports. It has been observed and evident that under the directions of PMO and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has done commendable work in the last 2-3 years, reported ETTravelWorld.
Jyoti Mayal, President, TAAI said that they regularly receive inputs from their members and travellers that services at the airports have improved significantly. “As per the latest developments shared by the AAI, across the country, various measures are to make airports barrier-free for travellers, especially in Kolkata, Udaipur, Goa etc, keeping in view the scores of tourists these facilities handle,” added Mayal.
Jay Bhatia, Vice President, added that, “At TAAI we have written to Ministry of Civil Aviation, Airports Authority of India, state governments and related departments to upgrade infrastructure at the earliest given the fact that the UDAN scheme has been successfully
implemented.” He went on to mention that regional connectivity required airports with advanced level equipment, technology and more skilled staff, which will eventually push travellers to opt for air transport as the primary source of travel within India leading to the growth of travel trade businesses.

From the perspective of having lifts, parking for the disabled, ramp for easy access to the airport, intercom etc, are certain very basic points which are considered as main features supporting hassle-free travel for flyers, said Bettaiah Lokesh, Hon Secretary-General, TAAI. In addition, having such facilities brings our country to the level of all developed nations offering such services resulting in more inbound business, Lokesh added.
