Deepening ties with a global Indian community
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on January 9, accompanied by a virtual address from Christine Carla Kangaloo, President of Trinidad and Tobago, as the chief guest. An immersive celebration of diaspora and heritage
Organized by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in partnership with the Odisha government, the convention carries the theme ‘Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat.’ It will feature a range of exhibitions, including ‘Vishwaroop Ram – The Universal Legacy of Ramayana,’ which will explore the epic’s significance through art forms. Other highlights include exhibitions on the diaspora’s role in technology, rare migration stories, and community evolution.
The convention will also host five thematic sessions covering topics such as sustainable development, migrant skills, women’s leadership, and youth-led global initiatives. The Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, scheduled for January 8, will emphasize the vital role of young diaspora leaders in shaping India’s future.

With attendees expected from over 50 countries, including top investors, entrepreneurs, and economists, the event underscores India’s appeal as a global investment destination.
