The Indian Embassy in Doha has stepped up assistance for Indian nationals in Qatar as tensions across West Asia continue to affect travel and safety conditions. The mission has issued fresh advisories, opened registration facilities and activated additional helpline numbers to support the large Indian community in the country.

In its latest advisory, the embassy said Indian citizens who are stranded in Qatar while transiting to other destinations may now register for help in obtaining a temporary Saudi transit visa. This option is available only to travellers who already hold confirmed tickets for onward travel from Saudi Arabia. After registration, the embassy will help facilitate the visa process, although travellers must make their own arrangements to reach the Salwa land border crossing and continue their journey to the departure airport.

Officials explained that the embassy will require at least 48 hours to process requests after receiving complete documentation. Applicants must upload copies of their inbound tickets to Qatar as well as confirmed onward tickets from Saudi Arabia.

  • The Embassy is also sharing the advisories of Qatar authorities through its social media channels, X (@IndEmbDoha), Facebook (@IndianEmbassyQatar) and Instagram (@indiainqatar),” the advisory read.

  • “Embassy of India, Doha remains available at all times for the welfare of the Indian community. Embassy’s 24×7 helpline numbers are +974 55647502 or +97455362508. Queries can also be raised with the Embassy on email address: cons.doha@mea.gov.in,” the advisory concluded.

  • The Embassy also appreciated Indian community organisations, ICC (Indian Cultural Centre) and ICBF (Indian Community Benevolent Forum), which have established helplines and helpdesks to assist the Indian community during the current situation.

  • “The details of the same are as follows: Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Phone: +974 5591 6415 / +974 5551 6388 Email: iccqatar@gmail.com ICC Help Desk: Ashoka Hall, ICC, Abu Hamour.

The advisory comes at a time when Qatar’s airspace remains temporarily closed due to the deteriorating security situation in the region. With flights suspended, many passengers have been left waiting for updates from airlines regarding the resumption of services.

To support those affected, the Indian Embassy has activated additional 24-hour helpline numbers and encouraged citizens to reach out if they require assistance. The mission also confirmed that it is closely coordinating with community organisations such as the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) and the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), which have set up their own helpdesks and telephone support services.

At the same time, Indian nationals in Qatar have been advised to follow local government instructions carefully. Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors whenever possible, avoid unnecessary travel and remain alert to official announcements.

The embassy has reassured the Indian community that it remains fully committed to their welfare and will continue issuing updates through its social media channels and official communication platforms.
