Babu expressed gratitude for the embassy’s support and the help of local community members and the Marthoma Church
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi successfully facilitated the repatriation of Sibimon Babu, an Indian national who suffered a heart attack while in the UAE. Babu, who arrived in the UAE on a visit visa seeking employment, secured a job as a waiter but experienced a severe cardiac event before his residency visa could be processed.
Babu is scheduled to return to Kochi on July 11, 2024. This case underscores the critical role of diplomatic missions in supporting citizens facing medical emergencies abroad
Upon being informed of Babu’s condition, embassy officials promptly visited the hospital and coordinated his return to India. This included retrieving his passport from his employer and arranging a stretcher air ticket and medical escorts. Babu’s wife, Aparna, is accompanying him to Kerala. Balaji Ramaswamy, Counsellor at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, emphasized the embassy’s commitment to assisting citizens in need.
