In a tragic incident, a 43-year-old Indian expatriate, Saneer Sirajuddin, died of a heart attack just a day after coming back to Saudi Arabia from his first vacation in two years. The news was confirmed by philanthropist and social activist Shaji Wayanad, who is helping coordinate the repatriation, reported siasat.com.

Saneer had been working as a house driver in Dammam’s Faisaliya area for two years and had returned from Kerala on August 23 after spending time with his family.

On August 24, when he failed to report to duty, his employer went to check on him and found him unresponsive at his accommodation. He was rushed by the Saudi Red Crescent to Dammam Central Hospital, where doctors declared him dead due to cardiac arrest.

  • Saneer is survived by his wife and two children

  • His body is currently at the hospital mortuary and will be repatriated to Kerala after the completion of legal and embassy formalities

Shaji, along with local authorities and sponsors, is overseeing the repatriation arrangements.

In an emotional Facebook post, Shaji wrote, “After his vacation, Saneer Siraj returned to this land of exile yesterday morning. Today, he has left for an exile from which he will never return. It is heartbreaking to see expatriates returning to foreign lands with dreams and hopes, only to face such tragedies.”

This heartbreaking incident follows a similar case just a week earlier, when another Indian house driver, 35-year-old Zainul Abid from Diriyah, died of a heart attack four days after returning from his vacation.
