Kerala native killed in tragic road accident in Al Ain while on festive getaway with family
In a heartbreaking incident during the Eid holidays, 54-year-old Indian expat Sajinabanu lost her life in a road accident in Al Ain, UAE. The victim, originally from Marykunnu, Kozhikode in Kerala, had been living in Ajman with her family for years, reported gulftoday.ae.
The holiday trip turned tragic when the car overturned, leading to her untimely death at the scene.
Sajinabanu had travelled to Al Ain with her son Jawad Nas and other family members to celebrate Eid. Jawad, who was driving the vehicle, reportedly lost control near their resort, resulting in the car flipping over on the main road
Sajinabanu was thrown out of the vehicle during the crash and sustained critical head injuries, leading to her death on the spot.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly, and while other passengers, including Jawad, sustained minor injuries, Sajinabanu was the only fatality in the accident. Initial police investigations suggest overspeeding could have been a contributing factor.
Her remains were scheduled to be flown back to India on Wednesday evening, with funeral arrangements to be held in Kerala, where friends and family are expected to gather to pay their last respects.
