Indian expat wins $1 million in Dubai Duty Free draw

Father of two says DDF jackpot has secured his family’s future

A 55-year-old Indian expat from Kerala, Pradeep Chalatan, struck gold after winning $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) Millennium Millionaire draw held at Concourse D of Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, reportedgulfnews.com.

Pradeep had been buying DDF tickets for over a decade before finally hitting the jackpot.

Pradeep, who works as a document controller at an architectural consultancy in Dubai, won in Series 512 with ticket number 2747, which he had purchased online on August 8. He shared the cost of the ticket with a colleague from India.

Having lived in Dubai for 20 years, the father of two expressed gratitude to DDF, saying, “I’m very thankful to Dubai Duty Free. You’ve secured my family’s future.”

This win makes him the 256th Indian national to bag the $1 million prize since the Millennium Millionaire promotion began in 1999. DDF confirmed that Indians remain the biggest participants and winners of the popular draw.
