A dream turned golden for Indian expat Someswararao Mungi, a 38-year-old fintech professional, as he won the region’s first-ever 24K gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck in Dubai, reported Gulf News.

His remarkable win was the grand prize of the Dubai Gold Souk Extension’s ‘Shop and Win’ campaign, which ran from November 14 to January 31.

During the campaign, shoppers received a raffle entry for every Dh500 spent at participating outlets, and Mungi’s lucky draw entry secured him the extravagant prize.

Its innovative campaigns, like ‘Shop and Win,’ reflect Dubai’s commitment to combining tradition with cutting-edge retail experiences, making it a vibrant destination for shoppers worldwide

Sharing his disbelief, he said, “Honestly, I’m still in shock. People often see such wins as pure luck, but some have suggested it might be a blessing for past good deeds. It’s a humbling thought that how we treat others truly matters. I’m grateful to the Dubai Gold Souk Extension for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—it has brought immense joy to my life.”

A Fusion of Tradition and Innovation

The Dubai Gold Souk Extension seamlessly blends the heritage of a traditional marketplace with the convenience of modern shopping, making it a key attraction for both residents and tourists. The Souk features a diverse array of retail outlets, bullion dealers, exchange houses, banks, and jewelry workshops.
