The incident occurred while the man was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, reported gujaratsamachar.com.

Accused grabbed crew member’s wrist and issued death threat mid-air

According to police reports, Leo exhibited aggressive and threatening behavior on board. During an attempt by a cabin crew member to calm him, the man grabbed their wrist and verbally threatened to kill them. The situation prompted immediate action upon landing.

Singapore police arrested the individual at the airport, and he now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Using criminal force against a flight attendant

  • Jeopardizing order and discipline on board an aircraft

  • Criminal intimidation by threatening death

Under Singaporean law, using criminal force against an airline staff member could result in up to three months in jail and a fine of SGD 1,500 (~₹95,600). The more serious charge of threatening to cause death could lead to 10 years in prison and a monetary penalty. Additionally, being intoxicated on a flight carries a maximum sentence of one year imprisonment and a fine of up to SGD 20,000 (~₹12.74 lakh).

Authorities are continuing their investigation as Leo awaits further legal proceedings. The incident has raised renewed concerns about passenger behavior and in-flight safety.
