KC holds a degree in chemical engineering from North Maharashtra University and an MBA from Santa Clara University
Artificial intelligence company OpenAI has appointed Indian-origin executive Arvind KC as its new Chief People Officer, the company announced on 24 February. The move comes at a time when businesses across the world are rethinking how work is organised in the age of AI.
In a statement, KC said organisations today must reconsider how teams function, how employees grow, and how workplaces adapt as technology evolves. He added that he is excited to join OpenAI as it addresses these questions internally while supporting users, customers and partners who are building with AI.

KC brings a blend of engineering knowledge and people management experience. Before joining OpenAI, he held senior leadership roles at major technology firms including Roblox, Google, Palantir Technologies and Meta

In these roles, he helped scale both products and teams, focusing on building strong systems that enable employees to perform at their best without unnecessary complexity
Welcoming him to the company, Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, said the way the company grows should reflect the future it aims to create. She noted that KC will play a key role in ensuring that people processes, policies and systems support the company’s ambitions while protecting its culture and core values.
OpenAI said that as AI transforms workplaces, the Chief People Officer will be central to managing this shift responsibly. The company plans to invest in skill development, re-skilling and education, and share its learning with partners to help the wider economy adapt.
