A tragic accident in Minnesota has claimed the life of 12-year-old Raghav Shrestha, a seventh-grade student at Sartell-St. Stephen Middle School, who passed away earlier this week after being taken off life support, reported indicanews.com.

According to local reports, Raghav — who was of Indian origin — sustained critical injuries in a bicycle crash that occurred on a steep slope locally known as “Muskie Hill” in Northside Park. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he fought for his life for several days before succumbing to his injuries.

The Minnesota community has come together to remember Raghav Shrestha — a bright, kind, and passionate young boy whose dreams and spirit continue to inspire those who knew him

Friends, classmates, and teachers at Sartell-St. Stephen Middle School have expressed deep sorrow over Raghav’s passing. Many described him as a curious learner and a cheerful presence who loved science and sports. The local community has since organized vigils and memorial events to honor his memory, with candles, flowers, and heartfelt messages filling the site of the accident.

A fundraising campaign was also launched to support Raghav’s family with medical and funeral expenses. The campaign description highlighted his dream of one day becoming an engineer — a vision that, though cut short, continues to motivate his peers.

Local authorities have urged parents and children to be cautious while cycling, especially in hilly park areas like Muskie Hill, which have seen several near-miss incidents in the past.

As the community mourns, messages of support continue to pour in from across Minnesota’s Indian diaspora, united in grief over the loss of a promising young life.
