Kevan Parekh steps into the role of Chief Financial Officer at Apple, succeeding Luca Maestri in January 2025
Indian-origin Kevan Parekh has been named Apple’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will join the company’s executive team. Parekh’s appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the tech giant as Luca Maestri prepares to step down on January 1, 2025, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
Transition in leadership at Apple
“For more than a decade, Kevan has been an indispensable member of Apple’s finance leadership team, and he understands the company inside and out,” said CEO Tim Cook. Describing Parekh as a perfect fit for the role, Cook highlighted his sharp intellect, financial expertise, and sound judgment.
Parekh, who has been with Apple for 11 years, currently oversees Financial Planning and Analysis, G&A and Benefits Finance, Investor Relations, and Market Research. Before this, he led Worldwide Sales, Retail, and Marketing Finance. His earlier roles supported Apple’s Product Marketing, Internet Sales and Services, and Engineering teams.
Extensive global experience and educational background
An electrical engineer by training, Parekh holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Before joining Apple, he held leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and General Motors, gaining extensive international experience.
Acknowledging Maestri’s contributions
Luca Maestri, who will continue to lead Corporate Services teams at Apple, leaves a legacy of remarkable financial performance during his tenure. “Maestri has been instrumental in improving and driving Apple’s financial performance, engaging with shareholders, and instilling financial discipline across every part of the company,” said Cook.
Maestri expressed gratitude, saying, “It is the greatest privilege of my professional life to serve the world’s most innovative and admired company and to work alongside a leader as inspirational as Tim Cook.”
