Navroop Singh, 24, found guilty of multiple charges including rape of a child and possession of imitation firearm
A 24-year-old man of Indian origin, Navroop Singh, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by Isleworth Crown Court in the United Kingdom after being convicted of multiple serious offences, including rape of a child, attempted rape, and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
Singh’s crimes were committed in two separate incidents just 10 days apart. On October 13, 2024, Singh was found waiting on a park bench with a self-assembled imitation firearm, targeting a potential victim. He used the weapon to threaten a young girl during an attempted rape.

While police were still investigating this case, another brutal rape of a minor was reported on October 23 in a nearby park

The nature of the second assault prompted investigators to link the two incidents
Forensics, CCTV footage, and eyewitness testimonies helped detectives build a solid case against Singh. He was arrested on October 27, 2024, and formally charged with the offences.
“Today’s conviction is a result of a meticulous investigation and the incredible courage of the survivors and their families,” said Acting Chief Superintendent Sean Lynch of West Area policing.
He added, “We have identified a violent sexual offender and removed a serious threat from our communities.”
Singh was found guilty of:
- Rape of a girl under 13
- Attempted rape
- Assault of a minor
- Possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit a serious offence
The court’s life sentence reflects the gravity of his crimes and aims to prevent further harm to society.
