Suspect arrested in tragic shooting; community mourns beloved spiritual leader
In a heartbreaking incident, Indian-origin Catholic priest Father Arun Carasala was shot dead at a clergy residence in Seneca, Kansas, on Thursday. Father Carasala served the Kansas Catholic community for over 20 years
Originally ordained in March 1994 in the Diocese of Cuddapah, India, Father Carasala had been a dedicated pastor at Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Seneca for nearly 14 years. He also served as dean of the Nemaha-Marshall deanery, earning deep respect and love from parishioners and the broader Kansas Catholic community.
The Saints Peter and Paul Parish announced on Facebook that a suspect is in custody and that there is no ongoing threat to the community, according to the Seneca Police Department
