To commemorate World Blood Donor Day, the Indian Social Club Oman, in collaboration with the Indian Embassy and the Central Blood Bank in Bausher, organized a community blood donation camp on Friday, June 14.
The event was formally inaugurated by G.V. Srinivas, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, who praised the enduring diplomatic and people-to-people ties between India and Oman, which have flourished over the past 70 years. In his remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of blood donation as a vital civic responsibility and a noble gesture that saves lives and unites communities.
Mohsin Al Sharyani, Head of the Donor Affairs Section at the Central Blood Bank, extended his appreciation to the Indian community for its consistent support of voluntary blood donation drives. He also acknowledged the broader impact of the Indian diaspora’s contribution to Oman’s healthcare sector.
The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior members of the Indian Social Club and Indian Embassy officials. Prominent attendees included Consular Officer Pradeep Kumar; Suhail Khan, Vice Chairman; Shakeel Komath, General Secretary; Santhosh Kumar, Community Welfare Secretary and campaign lead; Govind Negi, Treasurer; Manoj Ranade, Sports Secretary; and Reshma D’Costa, Joint Cultural Secretary.
