A viral video captures a man targeting Indian students with racist slurs, blaming them for Canada’s population surge
A video circulating on social media platform X shows an unidentified man hurling racist remarks at Indian students, accusing them of causing a population surge in Canada. The man sarcastically blamed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s immigration policies, sparking outrage and debate online, reported gujaratsamachar.com.
“Indians are the Problem,” Says the Man in Viral Video
In the video, the man records a group of Indian students, stating, “Alright, the refugees are here from India. This is Justin Trudeau’s reign. So many Indians.” He goes on to claim that Canada’s population has grown from 24 million in 1998 to 44 million, attributing the increase primarily to Indians. The students in the video appear unbothered, smiling at the man while ignoring his comments.
The text accompanying the video reads, “Where are the white people in Canada?” The video ends with the man sarcastically thanking the Trudeau government for the population changes.
Reactions and Reality Checks Online
The video sparked mixed reactions online, with many condemning the blatant racism. One user commented,
“No need for blatant racism. These people are trying to find a better life.” Another countered the man’s claims, saying, “Immigration and refugees are two different things. Indians come by legal means and not as refugees.”
The post also attracted disturbing comments, such as “I hate Indians” and “Indian pandemic,” revealing the extent of racial bias faced by immigrant communities in Canada.
Despite the hateful remarks, others on the platform used the opportunity to highlight the contributions of Indian immigrants to Canada’s economy and culture, emphasizing that the students in the video represent hard-working individuals striving for a better future.
