A 24-year-old Indian woman, who recently travelled to the United States for an arranged marriage, has gone missing just days after her arrival, according to a report by the New York Post.

Authorities in Lindenwold, New Jersey, are seeking public assistance in locating the woman, identified only as Simran, reported gujaratsamachar.com.

Simran landed in the US on June 20, and surveillance footage captured her standing outside the airport, appearing to check her phone while seemingly waiting for someone. Police noted that she did not appear to be in any visible distress at the time the footage was recorded.

Simran, who has no family in the US and does not speak English, was last seen days after her arrival in New Jersey for a planned arranged marriage.

Simran’s physical description has been shared by local law enforcement to aid in the search. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds, and has a small scar on the left side of her forehead. At the time of her disappearance, she was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, a white T-shirt, black flip-flops, and diamond-studded earrings.

Police have also confirmed that Simran does not speak English and has no known relatives in the United States, which raises further concern about her safety and ability to seek help. The nature of her visit—linked to an arranged marriage—has prompted growing attention on social media and from immigrant advocacy groups.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and help locate her.
