Sadhguru, an Indian yogi, environmentalist, and wellness advocate, has launched the free ‘Miracle of Mind’ app, achieving over 1 million downloads in just 15 hours, surpassing ChatGPT’s five-day milestone.

The app promotes mental health through focused breathing exercises and aims to reach three billion people worldwide. This app is designed to help individuals manage stress and anxiety, offering a seven-minute breathing exercise to help improve emotional well-being, reported thenationalnews.com.

A New Path to Mental Health and Well-Being

Sadhguru’s message is clear: mental health must be nurtured just like physical health. In an interview with The National, the 67-year-old yogi explained that mental health is fragile, and people need to take responsibility for their mental well-being and those around them.

“We must unleash the miracle of mind,” Sadhguru emphasized. He believes that if three billion people meditate for just seven minutes daily, the world would become a more peaceful place. The app offers a simple solution for people struggling with mental health, especially in a time when mental health crises are becoming more common due to digital burnout and loneliness.

Mental Health Crisis and Solutions

Sadhguru’s app is designed to help people cope with the mounting mental health challenges of the modern world. With one in eight people suffering from mental health conditions globally, he seeks to provide a simple, free tool that can help alleviate anxiety and stress.

“For too many people right now, their brain has become their enemy,” he said, referring to the increasing mental health challenges faced by society today. The app guides users through breathing exercises designed to improve mental health and emotional balance.

Research and Expert Endorsement

  • The app’s benefits have been recognized by experts, including Dr. Balachundhar Subramaniam, a professor at Harvard Medical School, who noted that meditation practices linked with the app help improve sleep patterns, reduce stress, and boost social interactions.

According to Dr. Subramaniam, initial research has shown that a 15-minute version of the app has helped reduce stress and mood disturbances among healthcare providers.

The Isha Foundation, Sadhguru’s non-profit organization, worked with a team of volunteer coders to develop the app, which is currently being studied by experts for its effectiveness.
