Luxembourg has recorded a significant increase in Schengen visa applications, according to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs’ 2024 activity report. The country received a total of 30,677 Schengen visa applications, marking a remarkable 173% rise compared to 2023 when only 11,227 applications were submitted, reported gujaratsamachar.com.

Indian nationals lead the charge, with 5,495 Schengen visas granted in 2024, making them the largest group of foreign visitors to Luxembourg.

Indian passport holders have again emerged as the leading nationality for Schengen visa applications to Luxembourg. In 2024, Luxembourg granted 5,495 Schengen visas to Indian nationals, far surpassing other countries. This number makes Indian citizens the top third-country nationals visiting Luxembourg, followed by Turkish citizens with 3,373 visas and Chinese nationals with 1,951 visas.

The increase in applications reflects Luxembourg’s growing appeal as a destination for study, work, and residency. The highest number of applications were received at the Luxembourg consulate in New Delhi, with 4,058 applications, followed by the consulate in Ankara (3,299) and the embassy in Beijing (1,951). This surge in visa applications further underscores Luxembourg’s global draw, particularly among Indian nationals.
