Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s ambition to host the 2036 Olympics, emphasizing that the event would be a game-changer for Indian sports.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 38th National Games in Dehradun, Modi underscored the transformative impact of hosting the prestigious global event, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

Modi assured that India is making every effort to secure the hosting rights for the 2036 Olympics.

He highlighted the extensive benefits the event would bring, from improving facilities for athletes to boosting the nation’s sports ecosystem.

India had first expressed its intent to host the Games during the International Olympic Committee (IOC) session in Mumbai in 2023.
