Quoting Mint, the report points out that foreign investments in the Indian real estate market have witnessed a three-fold increase, reaching an impressive USD26.6 billion between 2017 and 2022.
The surge in foreign and NRI investments can be attributed to various factors that have enhanced the Indian real estate market’s credibility and stability.
The report mentioned Times of India which uncovered the abundant opportunities available for investors in the local sector. With improved regulatory frameworks, increased transparency, and investor-friendly policies, India has become an appealing destination for both local and international investors looking for long-term growth and sustainability.
Another report from Mint noted the growth in real estate launches in India’s top seven cities. In the first quarter of 2023, these launches captured a 41 percent market share, demonstrating a substantial increase from 26 percent in 2019.
Leading the charge in terms of sales of newly launched units is Hyderabad, with 46 percent of its 14,280 units sold in the first quarter of this year. This is followed by Pune with a 45 percent increase. Bengaluru comes close at 43, then Chennai at 41, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) at 40, Kolkata at 38, and the National Capital Region (NCR) at 30.
