India has authorized immigration authorities to grant emergency visa extensions to foreign nationals who are unable to leave the country due to flight disruptions across parts of West Asia.
The Ministry of Home Affairs directed Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRROs) to facilitate quick visa extensions for affected travelers. Airlines have also announced refund and rebooking options for passengers whose flights were cancelled during the disruption.
The decision is particularly significant for international students, expatriate workers, and members of the Indian diaspora visiting the country.

Immigration officials have advised affected visitors to retain documentation such as cancelled tickets when applying for visa extensions. Universities and employers have also been asked to provide support letters if required.
