This announcement follows the earlier introduction of six weekly services from Bengaluru to Abu Dhabi, beginning August 1.
IndiGo, India’s budget airline, has introduced three new flights to Abu Dhabi, catering to the large Malayali population in the UAE capital. These new services, however, do not connect with Kerala directly but will benefit Malayalees in the Malabar region.
Starting on August 9, the daily service from Mangaluru in Karnataka will greatly aid expatriates from Kasaragod and Kannur districts. The service from Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu will commence on August 11, offering four flights a week. Additionally, Coimbatore will have thrice-weekly flights starting August 10.
With these additions, IndiGo’s operations from 13 South Indian cities to Abu Dhabi will total 89 flights per week.
