The peaceful morning of June 21, 2025, witnessed Qurum Park transform into a vibrant hub of health and harmony as nearly 700 yoga enthusiasts gathered to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga.
Starting at 5am, the event exuded an air of unity and wellness, celebrating yoga’s global appeal and its benefits for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Organized by the Embassy of India in Muscat, the event was a fine blend of tradition, creativity, and community participation. From classical yoga demonstrations to unique showcases like yoga dance and Raj Yoga, the gathering offered something for everyone—whether seasoned practitioners or curious newcomers.
Various yoga groups, including the Art of Living, participated in the session, reaffirming their dedication to spreading the values of yoga. Their involvement added depth and diversity to the event, reflecting yoga’s adaptability and universal relevance
Ambassador of India to Oman, Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, delivered an inspiring message urging everyone to embrace yoga not just as a physical exercise but as a daily discipline that fosters holistic well-being. His words resonated strongly with the audience, reinforcing the importance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world.
A specially set-up Yoga Selfie Booth added an interactive and cheerful element, encouraging participants to capture and share their moments of inner peace.
Acharya Manoranjan, the event coordinator, played a pivotal role in making the day special. He not only led the sessions with calm expertise but also empowered budding yoga teachers to serve as demonstrators—providing a motivational platform for emerging talent in the yoga community.
The event was further graced by the presence of the Ambassador of Nepal and witnessed active participation from Omani nationals, turning the celebration into a symbol of multicultural solidarity and friendship.
The Embassy’s thoughtful arrangements—including ambulance services, water stations, yoga mats, and light refreshments—ensured a safe and welcoming experience for all attendees.
