Jaishankar meets Qatar PM as first diplomatic engagement of 2025

India-Qatar relations reviewed in first high-level engagement of the year

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged in his first diplomatic activity of 2025 with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. During the meeting, they reviewed India-Qatar bilateral cooperation, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

EAM Jaishankar’s visit aims to strengthen ties across various sectors

  • Jaishankar took to X to express his delight, saying it was a productive discussion on regional and global developments

  • The visit focused on enhancing cooperation in areas such as political, trade, investment, energy, security, cultural, and people-to-people relations

 

Jaishankar’s visit is part of ongoing efforts to review and deepen bilateral ties, with broader discussions also including key regional and international issues. Earlier, in December 2024, Jaishankar attended the 22nd Doha Forum where he addressed conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine and their effects on global trade, underscoring the importance of diplomacy.
