Director Shankar’s latest movie, Indian 2, was first announced on the Kamal Haasan-hosted Bigg Boss Tamil in 2017. Its shoot was delayed on several occasions as Haasan and the filmmaker were busy with Vishwaroopam 2 and the Rajinikanth-led 2.0, respectively. Indian 2 eventually went on the floors in January 2019.
In 2020, Indian 2’s shoot was halted after three assistant directors were killed in a crane accident on the film’s sets. It was further delayed following the Covid-19 lockdown, reported indiatoday.in.
Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 classic of the same name, and stars Kamal Haasan in the role of an aged vigilante who wages a war against corruption. The film, like the first part, is likely to have a strong message against corruption. Indian 2 stars Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with Ulaganayagan.
