Hbtu to accept jee mains and global entrance scores for new nri, foreign admissions.
While HBTU admitted some foreign students last year, this is the first time an official NRI quota is being implemented since the institute was elevated from HBTI to university status.
The move follows approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for admitting NRI and foreign students under the newly created quota
Previously, students from the United States, Bangladesh, and Nepal had secured admission, although the latter two withdrew their applications. The American student continues at HBTU, currently enrolled in a PhD programme in Management.
Dean of Academics Prof. Lalit Kumar Singh confirmed that admission under the new quota will be based on scores from JEE Mains and other internationally recognised entrance exams. The policy is aimed at encouraging global academic engagement and offering Indian students an enriched, multicultural educational experience.
