The tie-up between Kerala and Abu Dhabi to work together for the development of tourism has provided a big boost to the state’s initiative to revive the travel and hospitality sector from the pandemic induced downturn.
Commenting on the Kerala-Abu Dhabi MoU, Jyoti Mayal, President, TAAI extended her wishes to the state of Kerala and its government, and said that such bonds were a necessity, to get back the charm and shine of tourism back, which got lost in the Covid pandemic. “Though the governments of respective countries are doing their level best via air bubble agreements with different nationalities, a lot has to be still done to bring the business on track,” she said.

A high- level delegation from Abu Dhabi will visit Kerala in May for holding further discussions in that direction. Chairman of Abu Dhabi’s state-owned infrastructure development company, also promised to explore the possibilities of them making investments in Kerala’s tourism sector as part of the cooperation, which is a good sign in the business world.
“This understanding or a new relationship between two countries if I may say, will impart great momentum to our tourism initiatives. The tourism in the country is now slowly recovering from the Covid induced crisis, and this tie-up comes as a breakthrough. We all, in this business of travel and trade, look forward to a fruitful result, that will lead to a robust partnership in the tourism sector. We need more such understanding and agreements to recover from the losses, and to have a safe and secure future ahead,” Mayal said.
