Shivam’s witty post about Aravind Srinivas’ green card wait amuses social media
A man’s lighthearted take on his visa stress has caught social media’s attention, as he recalled that Perplexity AI’s Indian-origin CEO, Aravind Srinivas, is still waiting for his green card despite founding a successful company in the US, reported hindustantimes.com.
Shivam, a partner at a venture firm investing in early-stage startups, shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) about how his visa concerns faded when he remembered Srinivas’ ongoing green card wait.
“Was stressing over my visa this morning, then remembered this guy still doesn’t have a Green Card lol,” Shivam wrote, sharing a picture with Srinivas. The image, taken in San Francisco, shows Shivam in a black hoodie and Srinivas wearing a T-shirt and blue jacket.
A humorous perspective on the US immigration process
In a previous post, Aravind Srinivas revealed he has been waiting for his green card for three years. In another instance, he questioned on X whether he should pursue it, to which Elon Musk himself responded, “Yes.”
The viral post sparked reactions from users, with one commenting, “Let’s goo! You’ve got plenty of time to get your visa sorted out, bro.” Another joked, “Is there like an Indian app I’m not a part of where you can easily find each other? Why is Aravind Srinivas always getting papped?” A third quipped, “Perplexity AI can unravel the mysteries of the universe, but the US immigration system? Still a black box, even for its CEO.”
Many highlighted the challenges of the US immigration process, with one user stating, “The US needs an expedited green card process for exceptional talent. This is ridiculous.”
