In an interesting development at the end of in MBBS admission in the Indian Medical colleges for the 2021-22 academic year, Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (SVIMS) College slashed fee for the NRI/NRI-sponsored category.
The decision saved 10 to 11 lakh of girl students, as the fee has been reduced to INR 25 lakh from INR 36 lakh per annum for those who come under NRI/NRI-sponsored category.
A special round of counselling would be conducted by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada
The decision is pending government approval.
The Hindu cited SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor B Vengamma, who said, “A special round of counselling would be conducted by Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada.”
