Viraj Ghelani celebrates Navratri by including NRI friends in a creative digital garba performance
Indians living abroad often miss out on the vibrant celebrations of festivals like Navratri. To bridge this gap, Mumbai-based content creator Viraj Ghelani devised a unique way to include his NRI friends in the festivities, reported hindustantimes.com.
Ghelani performed a ‘digital garba’ by dancing alongside printed photos of his friends living overseas, sharing the video on Instagram, where it quickly went viral with over 1.3 million views and 60,000 likes.
The video, posted on September 24, 2025, showcased Ghelani dancing energetically while holding photos of two NRI friends, captioned: “Jis jis ka Digital Garba karvana hai unko tag karo because they are missing the real Garba fun!”
Social media users praised his creativity and humour. Instagram reactions ranged from amusement to playful sarcasm. One user wrote, “Yeh sb schemes sirf iss mulk mai avail hoti hai, India is not for beginners,” while another joked, “This is a new startup. Jisko dance nahi aata uska bhi aap kardoge kya?”
The post resonated with NRIs who tagged friends to join virtually, while many others shared how the video reminded them of loved ones living abroad and the festive moments they often miss.
