The Swiss authorities have announced that fully vaccinated travellers are not required to present a Covid-19 test report as a mandatory requirement to enter the country. The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has said that those who were not vaccinated or had not recovered from Covid would have to take the tests to enter the country.

Sharing the information in a tweet, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Mumbai mentioned that the new order was effective from January 22 and fully vaccinated or persons recovered from Covid19 would not be required to present a negative PCR or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) report before entering Switzerland.

However, due to limited testing capacity, such unvaccinated or infected travellers will no longer be required to take follow-up tests four to seven days after arriving, meaning that the ‘3G’ rule (proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test report) applied to enter Switzerland. If PCR test is required, it should not be older than 72 hours or the Rapid Antigen Test should not be older than 24 hours on arrival. The Passenger Locator Form (PLF) will only have to be completed by those travelling to Switzerland by plane.  No Covid-19 test is required for children under the age of 16. Certain categories of people were also exempted in case of medical emergencies and people transiting without stopping.
