In November 2023, an exciting development is set to unfold as new flight routes connect India and the United States. The aviation industry’s resurgence post-pandemic has prompted several international airlines to reshape their networks.

As part of their global expansion strategies, renowned carriers such as Etihad, Air India, United Airlines, Air France, Turkish Airways, and Lufthansa are strategically mapping out new routes and increasing service frequencies to India.

This pivotal step forward entails the launch of both nonstop and connecting flights between these two countries, a significant move highlighted by indeaneagle.com.

Etihad Airways is poised for extensive growth, bolstering its network in both the US and India. Having already designated Boston as its fourth US destination, Etihad is now gearing up to introduce flights to two new Kerala destinations during its winter schedule.

Commencing in January 2024, Etihad will establish connections between Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram and the US via Abu Dhabi.

Turkish Airlines is also primed for a noteworthy addition to its services. Starting on November 15, 2023, Turkish Airlines will inaugurate a service departing from Detroit, with seamless connectivity to India via Istanbul.

The thrice-weekly schedule is slated for expansion to four times a week in 2024. This milestone marks Turkish Airlines as the pioneering Middle Eastern carrier to serve Detroit in the Midwest.

Effective October 30, 2023, Air France is set to unveil a novel route originating in Raleigh, extending to India via Paris. This development serves as an alternative for travelers since most flights between Raleigh and India are currently operated by American Airlines and United Airlines, with restrictions on free checked baggage.

Air France’s thrice-weekly service from Raleigh-Durham International Airport presents a more seamless option, particularly for those on two-stop itineraries originating in Charlotte.

Meanwhile, Air India is reportedly planning an expansion of its nonstop flights between India and the USA. The focus is on Boston and Los Angeles, cities with substantial Indian communities. Boston Logan Airport, a pivotal gateway to the New England region, will cater to a diverse range of travelers, including students, holidaymakers, and business professionals.

On December 15, 2023, Kuwait Airways will commence its flights from the USA to India, departing from Washington Dulles (IAD). This marks the airline’s second US gateway after New York JFK. With three weekly services from Washington DC, Kuwait Airways will offer seamless connectivity to Delhi and Mumbai through its hub in Kuwait City. This development marks Lufthansa’s triumphant return to Hyderabad, reestablishing a service that was suspended in 2011.
