The Film Nagar police have registered a case against a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for allegedly harassing a woman from the city after a video call marriage, reported telanganatoday.com.
The accused allegedly threatened to share private photos and videos to silence the victim.
A 35-year-old woman from Hyderabad became friends with Mohd Abdul Ahmed, an NRI based in Saudi Arabia, through social media. The two exchanged mobile numbers and continued their communication via WhatsApp, leading to a relationship.
According to the police, Abdul Ahmed proposed marriage, and the woman accepted. The couple reportedly married via video call, with Ahmed residing abroad while the complainant was in Hyderabad.

Upon confronting him, he allegedly began harassing her
In her complaint, she claimed that Ahmed threatened to leak her private photos and videos online if she disclosed his actions to anyone.
Additionally, the woman alleged that Ahmed’s third wife was also involved in harassing her.
Following her complaint, the Film Nagar police have filed a case and launched an investigation into the allegations.
