Railways initiate action against porter for overcharging, enforcing zero-tolerance policy
A porter at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi faced strict action after charging Rs 10,000 from an NRI passenger for wheelchair services and luggage assistance. The Railways cancelled his licence and directed the porter to return 90% of the amount to the passenger following an investigation, reported indiatoday.in.

The Northern Railways’ Delhi division withdrew the porter’s badge as part of its “zero-tolerance policy” against such misconduct. The porter was identified through CCTV footage and made to refund Rs 9,000 to the passenger.
