An FIR has been filed by an NRI against a Tibetan national in Dharamshala, accusing him of criminal intimidation and rape, as confirmed by SP Kangra. The victim, currently undergoing medical tests, will soon provide her judicial statement to support the investigation, reported zeenews.india.com.
Police Investigation Underway, Accused Interrogated
Kangra SP Shalini Agnihotri provided details about the case, saying, “An FIR was registered at the Women Police Station in Dharamshala under charges of rape and criminal intimidation.
The victim, an NRI, is undergoing necessary medical tests, and her judicial statement is expected soon.” Agnihotri also mentioned that the police are thoroughly investigating the case and interrogating the accused.
Police are exploring all possible angles and verifying the documents of both the victim and the accused. The police have been in constant touch with the Tibetan office to facilitate the investigation.
Further details about the case are awaited, and the investigation is ongoing.
Similar Case in Delhi Involving British Woman
In a separate incident, Delhi police arrested a man for allegedly raping a British woman at a hotel in the Mahipalpur area.
The woman had traveled from the UK to meet the accused, whom she had connected with via social media. Upon arriving at the hotel, the woman felt unsafe and had a confrontation with the accused, leading to the alleged rape. She managed to escape and reached the hotel reception, but was molested by another man in the hotel lift. Both suspects have been arrested, and the British High Commission has been informed about the incident.
