Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, a philanthropic NRI from Punjab, organised a free diagnostic camp at Wadala Bhittewad village near Amritsar on Sunday. This event is part of his ongoing mission to eradicate cancer, spearheaded by his organisation, the World Cancer Care Charitable Society, reported tribuneindia.com.

Dhaliwal’s organisation has reached over 9,600 villages across Punjab, providing cancer screenings and awareness

The World Cancer Care Charitable Society has already made significant strides, conducting free cancer screening camps in nearly 75% of Punjab’s villages, thanks to the use of mobile units equipped with advanced medical technology.

These state-of-the-art buses, valued in crores of rupees, travel to rural communities, offering free diagnostic tests and check-ups to local residents.

Currently, Dhaliwal’s initiative operates 12 mobile units across North India. The camp in Wadala Bhittewad was held in collaboration with Mehtab Singh Wadala, Preet Hospital, and Care Well Hospital. The event has sparked further local initiatives, with families in the area setting up dispensaries and appointing medical staff to increase healthcare accessibility.

In an interview with journalists, Dhaliwal highlighted the importance of cancer awareness and early detection, emphasising that such efforts can lead to better outcomes for those at risk.
