An Indian-origin professional with an MBA from HEC Paris and a senior managerial background in AI and digital strategy has taken to Reddit to express frustration over his fruitless job search in India. Despite more than a decade of global experience, including a high-level role at an industrial firm in Germany, the NRI says he hasn’t received a single callback after applying to over 100 roles across India, reported financialexpress.com.
His credentials are impressive, but not a single Indian company has responded — sparking debate on the NRI job dilemma.
Holding an undergraduate degree from PSG Tech in Tamil Nadu, the individual has applied to roles ranging from mid-level to senior managerial positions across industries such as tech, automotive, and startups. Applications have been submitted through platforms like LinkedIn, staffing agencies including Michael Page, and directly via company portals, each accompanied by tailored cover letters.
“I’m applying for roles below and above my current designation,” he wrote, asking, “What am I doing wrong?” While he has received occasional interest from companies within the European Union, outreach from Indian firms has been nonexistent.
