NRIs exhorted to invest to in Himachal Pradesh

Indo-American Business and Arts Council (IABAC) organized an Indo-US symposium in association with Pravasi Bharatiyas (Indian NRIs) from San Francisco.

The Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh were exhorted to invest in the State.

The Indo-American Business and Arts Council (IABAC) organized an Indo-US symposium on Friday in association with Pravasi Bharatiyas (Indian NRIs) from San Francisco. Focus of the symposium was Himachal Pradesh, while the Himachalis living in the Gulf region took part in the meeting through virtual mode.

RD Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Energy, Himachal Pradesh, attended the symposium on behalf of the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

He conveyed the Chief Minister’s willingness to welcome the NRIs as investors in the State and take advantage of the investment policies.

Dhiman expressed happiness over the initiative of the Indo-American Business and Arts Council and apprised the participants about the special incentives being provided to the investors by the State Government.

Rohit Khanna, member of the US General Assembly representing the Bay Area San Francisco, California, Dr. Nagendra Prasad, Consul General of India in San Francisco, social work expert Mahesh Nihalani were the key speakers

 

The participants discussed the scope of investment, as State’s representative in the meeting conveyed the Chief Minister’s message that he was keen to have a dialogue with the investors and offer them immense investment opportunities in the State.

Those who attended the meeting included, Rohit Khanna, member of the US General Assembly representing the Bay Area San Francisco, California, Dr. Nagendra Prasad, Consul General of India in San Francisco, social work expert Mahesh Nihalani were the key speakers for the Bay Area.

Rohit Khanna said that he is originally from Kangra and supported the initiative. Investors showed keen interest in the hospitality and IT sectors.

Sam Deodhara (owner of hotel chain in the Gulf region) showed his interest in the hospitality sector. Amit Zaveri (General Manager, Google Cloud) mentioned the potential opportunities in Himachal Pradesh for its customers and Google in India, including government departments.

Mahesh Nihalani invited a high-level delegation of the State Government to visit Bay Area (Bay-Area) California for Himachal Day celebrations and hold a meeting with Silicon Valley investors.
