NRIs in the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia have collectively decided to forego Diwali celebrations this year. This unified stance is backed by 150 Sikh Gurudwaras in these countries. Vikram Bajwa, representing Indians for #Gazaceasewar, revealed that these NRIs and Gurudwaras are issuing a joint call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They are urging influential leaders such as President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to use their diplomatic leverage on Israel.

This collective decision reflects the NRIs’ commitment to promoting peace and advocating for a resolution to the conflict in Gaza

Sanjiv Gupta of NFFIA-Canada emphasized the need for humanitarian aid to Gaza and called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide assistance under the leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Amrita Gill, expressing solidarity for peace and a ceasefire in Gaza, stated, “We are boycotting #Divali23 in support for Peace and #Ceasewar in Gaza.” She urged Vice President Kamala Harris to take the lead in coordinating aid efforts for Gaza.
