The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of Oman has launched a four-day tourism workshop in Jaipur, aimed at strengthening its foothold in the Indian travel market. The event brings together Omani tourism representatives, airlines, travel agents, and nearly 150 Indian travel professionals to highlight Oman’s diverse tourism offerings while fostering business partnerships, reported travelandtourworld.com.

The workshop spotlights Oman’s wide spectrum of experiences — from centuries-old forts and vibrant cultural traditions to serene beaches, luxurious resorts, desert safaris, and mountain adventures. Special emphasis is placed on family-friendly itineraries and packages that combine discovery with relaxation, catering to the growing demand among Indian travellers.

The initiative underscores Oman’s focus on India as a key tourism market, offering opportunities for Indian agents to directly engage with Omani hotels, tour operators, and cultural promoters

In 2024, over 623,000 Indians visited Oman, making them a significant share of the country’s 3.9 million foreign arrivals. This strong turnout highlights India’s vital role in Oman’s tourism sector and reflects the countries’ deep-rooted historical and cultural ties. Indian vacationers are increasingly seeking destinations that blend heritage with modern comforts — a balance Oman aims to offer in abundance.

The Jaipur workshop goes beyond networking, delivering immersive presentations and interactive sessions to equip Indian travel professionals with detailed knowledge about Oman’s heritage, landscapes, adventure tourism, cultural festivals, and luxury offerings. The goal is to enable Indian agents to design compelling travel packages suited to a wide range of travelers, from culture enthusiasts to thrill-seekers.

Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, this initiative highlights the sultanate’s commitment to diversifying its economy through sustainable tourism, ensuring long-term partnerships with global stakeholders, including India.

The Ministry stressed that events like the Jaipur workshop not only boost Oman’s global visibility but also reinforce the cultural and commercial bonds between India and Oman. By creating direct connections between Indian travel companies and Omani suppliers, the program sets the stage for innovative travel experiences, stronger partnerships, and a steady rise in Indian tourist inflow.
